French fries are that great American food that fools its consumers with the perception that their deep fried greasiness is really delicate, with that fancy “French” name. but don’t be fooled. “French” refers to the way the potato is reduced. these potatoes doused in boiling, hot grease and salt are nothing near being a delicacy. In fact, you should in all likelihood stay away — or at least no longer consume them each day. due to the fact in case you do, the following undesirable things will manifest to you.
1. You’ll gain unnecessary weight
The fries are particularly rich in carbohydrates – this is not a bad thing. However, the chips contain complex carbohydrates refined (processed), which puts them in the category of “bad” that does not necessarily convert into good energy.
Since the chips are complex carbohydrates, it means that your body digests slowly. Add to the fact that many nutrients have been removed during the refining process, then you digest slowly unhealthy foods. This will make you feel lethargic, with little or no energy to exercise, resulting in excessive weight gain.
2. You’ll increase your chances of heart disease and type 2 diabetes
The fries are soaked in unhealthy trans fats because they were fried in hydrogenated oils. When consumed, you will increase your bad cholesterol and your risk of heart disease. This fact has been repeatedly concluded in the health study of nurses that began in 1976.
In this study, 121,700 registered nurses aged 30 to 55 have recorded their eating habits over a period of several years. The follow-up study among health professionals (HPFS) was conducted among 51,529 health professionals aged 40 to 75 years old in 1986. All subjects were asked about their eating habits. The researchers concluded that the incidence of diabetes was significantly associated with the incidence of diabetes and moderately incident CHD
3. You may increase your risk of cancer
Speculation and science have spread around the idea that fried foods like French fries may increase your risk of cancer or even cause flat. Although the verdict is not specific with regard to humans, a recent study on rats found that a substance in chips, called acrylamide may cause cancer.
The results of the study published by the National Cancer Institute found that acrylamide is produced when vegetables containing the amino acid asparagine, like potatoes, are heated to high temperatures in the presence of certain sugars. This occurs when acrylamide is converted to a compound called glycidamide, which causes changes and damage in the structure of DNA and can lead to cancer.
4. Increase your risk of kidney disease and stroke
The fries are wet salt, which can create a number of health problems. It was found that people who consume a diet high in salt increases the risk of hypertension. And all this pressure on your circulatory system can lead to heart disease, kidney disease, and stroke.
5. You will lose some brain and nerve functions
So, remember this horrible contaminant inside chips which we have spoken, called acrylamide? Yeah, it may be that it also causes neurological damage.
the American Chemical Society Scientists found that “acrylamide can cause nerve damage in humans, including muscle weakness and impaired muscle coordination.” Other laboratory studies suggest that “chronic dietary exposure to this chemical can damage nerve cells in the brain and could potentially play a role in the development of the neurodegenerative disease. ”
6. You could increase your risk of premature death
Obesity, heart disease, cancer, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, loss of nerve and brain function. Not only those things that can have a significant impact on your daily life – and not for the better – but they are the leading cause of death.
Thus, you can easily deduce that the regular consumption of fries increases the risk of death.
That said, science has documented this correlation to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. In this study, the researchers examined the data of 4 400 people aged 45 to 79 years and followed their eating habits and their health for eight years. At the end of the study, 236 participants had died.
So if you must have your chips, do not do it. Cook potatoes, mixed with olive oil and lightly salted with sea salt. You can really have your potatoes and eat them too.
